Why Renovating Campion Matters
For over 30 years, the James W. Campion III Rink has been a hub for ice activities, connecting families from 25 Upper Valley communities and beyond. However, the rink's crucial operating systems are nearing the end of their serviceable lives. We are committed to upgrading our systems to ensure energy efficiency and sustainability well into mid-century.
In Phase 1, we:
Upgraded locker and restroom facilities to separate boys/men from girls/women and make these facilities available to field sports teams during non-ice time.
Constructed a new multi-purpose room for meetings, classes, and events.
Improved the roof and structural features to meet updated safety codes and ADA requirements.
With your help, we can complete Phase 2 this summer!
Build a concrete floor with a state-of-the-art under-ice refrigeration system (rather than sand) for better energy efficiency and higher quality ice.
Add new bleachers, flooring, and heat for spectators.
Install new dasher boards and glass.
In 2019 Campion Rink had over 80,000 user visits with an additional 80,000+ spectator visits. These are many of our user groups:
